Scan Seagate Hard Drive For Errors & Warranty Status Online

Note: Please take note that, you can use this procedure only for Seagate, Samsung and Maxtor branded hard drives and get them replaced. But still, then you can use the Seagate SeaTool to test the hard drive health of all brands.

Steps

• This is a guide for Windows OS, if you are using Mac OS, please follow the instruction here. 
• Download Seagate SeaTools for Windows and install it. It requires Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0 to use it. If you already have not installed it, download and install it from here.
• After installation, restart your computer and run the Seagate SeaTool. It will scan of installed hard drives and allow you to scan for errors and health reports.
• Run the Seagate SeaTools and test if your drive has erred.

•  The SeaTool allow you to run tests like S.M.A.R.T. , Short Drive Self Test, Short and Long generic test, short and long error fixing and other advanced error fixing tests.
• If you have more than one hard drive, select the drive you want to test and then select the test you want to run. Test your hard drive for all types of tests, if the tool finds any error it will give you report about it.
• If you get any error, the report option will allow you to check the status of the warranty on your hard drive.
• Click on the link in the report window.

• Alternatively, you can check the warranty status here. Enter the required details like serial number, model number about your hard drive and then select your country and it will give you a report about the status of warranty. You will also need a 'Seagate Customer Number' which you will get after you complete the health test with Seagate SeaTools. Copy paste the code there.
• Use this guide to find out the serial number and model number of your hard drive.

• If it is still under warranty, you have to give the shipping details where you want your new or repaired hard drive to get delivered. 
• But before that, you have to send your faulty hard drive to the Seagate center in your country. You can take a print of the address and then sent the faulty hard drive to the given address. You will get the factory repaired hard drive in 6-9 working days.
• Please note that you have to pay the shipping charges on one side.
